The 2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric has been unveiled by Porsche, combining extreme performance with cutting-edge electric technology and a completely new interior design that will also influence future Porsche models.

From the outside, the Cayenne Electric retains the familiar Cayenne SUV look but with subtle refinements. It is slightly longer than the combustion version and comes with attractive 22-inch wheels. Air suspension comes standard, while Porsche Active Ride and rear-axle steering are optional, improving both comfort and agility. The rear design is still partially hidden but will be similar to both the Macan Electric and the standard Cayenne.

Performance is impressive. The top-spec Cayenne Turbo Electric produces 1,000 horsepower and over 1,500 Nm of torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than 3 seconds and 0-200 km/h in less than 8 seconds. It offers a towing capacity of up to 3.5 tonnes, which is rare for an EV.

The battery pack is 108 kWh, delivering up to 600 km WLTP range (around 500 km in real-world use). Thanks to 400 kW DC charging, it can be recharged from 10-80% in less than 15 minutes. AC charging supports 11 kW as standard, with 22 kW and optional inductive charging also available for home garages. Regenerative braking is also powerful, meeting most braking needs without using friction brakes.

Inside, Porsche introduces a completely new interior with a futuristic “Flow Screen”, a curved OLED display that looks premium and immersive. It also features clever details such as an optional passenger display, high-quality physical controls for the climate and adaptive cupholders, movable rear seats and more storage flexibility. The Cayenne Electric offers both sport seats with retro Pepita fabric and comfort seats with massage and ventilation. For the first time, Porsche is also offering a completely animal-free interior option with microfiber and leatherette options.

Rear passengers benefit from increased legroom thanks to the longer wheelbase, as well as optional heated and cooled rear seats. The cargo area offers between 550-780 liters depending on the position of the rear seats, including flat-folding seats and electric operation for added convenience.

Pricing is expected to start at around €116,000(₹1.04 crore) for the base model with AWD, while the high-performance Turbo version could top €200,000(₹1.8 crore) with options.

Overall, the Cayenne Electric combines Porsche’s hallmark performance with long-range EV practicality, ultra-fast charging, towing capability and a luxurious, tech-focused interior. It’s not replacing the combustion Cayenne but will run alongside it, giving buyers more choice than ever before.
