5 New SUVs Launching In September 2025 India – Hybrid to 7 seater

September 2025 is set to be an exciting month for SUV lovers in India. From new electric models to hybrids and facelifts, five major launches are lined up. Some of these SUVs are expected to be game-changers for their brands. Let’s take a look at what’s coming this month.

VinFast VF6 – Launch on September 6

Vietnamese carmaker VinFast is all set to launch the VF6 electric SUV in India on September 6. It is a Creta-sized SUV that will rival the Mahindra BE.06.

Design: Slim V-shaped connected headlights, large headlamp housing, 18-inch alloy wheels and a coupe-like tapering roofline.

Interior: Minimalist cabin with a 12.9-inch central display, handling all functions, Tesla-style.

Performance: 60 kWh battery with a range of ~450 km, single front-mounted motor producing 201 hp (same motor as BYD Atto 3).

Price and bookings: Expected price around ₹20 lakh, bookings open from ₹21,000.

VinFast has already set up a factory in India, making this launch a significant step for the brand.

VinFast VF7

VinFast’s second launch is the VF7, the bigger and more premium sibling of the VF6.

Design: Will come with sharp V-shaped headlights, 4.67 meters in length, sporty coupe-style roofline and connected tail-lights.

Interior: 15-inch central touchscreen, steering-mounted gear selector and spacious cabin.

Performance:

  • Dual-motor setup with 350 hp
  • Single-motor setup with 201 hp
  • 70 kWh battery

Price: Expected to be around ₹30 lakh with CKD assembly confirmed in India.

With its factory based in India, VinFast aims to produce up to 1.5 lakh units annually if demand picks up.

Maruti Suzuki Victoris – Launched on September 3

Maruti has launched a new SUV named Victoris, which is positioned between the Brezza and the Grand Vitara. The Victoris will help Maruti in its mid-size SUV portfolio.

Design: Comes with Thali lights, connected tail-lights, slightly sloping, modern styling.

Interior: 9-inch screen, panoramic roof (top variant), and improved comfort, and equipped with a host of modern features.

Engine: 1.5-litre petrol with manual/automatic options from launch, plus CNG also available.

Price: Price not yet officially announced, but priced between the Brezza and the Grand Vitara.

Volvo EX30

Volvo will enter the compact EV segment in India with the EX30, the smallest SUV the brand has ever made.

Design: Gets hammer-shaped LED headlights, 19-inch wheels, compact body (Creta-sized), and unique square tail-lights.

Interior: Vertical central display, panoramic sunroof, and premium yet minimalist cabin design.

Performance:

  • 69 kWh battery
  • Single-motor setup with 270 hp

Price: Expected to be between ₹35-40 lakh, making it the most affordable Volvo SUV in India.

Although built in China, the EX30 will be assembled locally for India, which will allow Volvo to price it competitively.

Mahindra Thar Facelift

To celebrate 5 years of the Thar in India, Mahindra is set to launch the facelifted version this month.

Exterior updates: Will come with a new front grille (inspired by the Thar Rocks), LED headlamps, updated bumper and new alloy wheels.

Interior improvements:

  • 10-inch infotainment screen
  • Digital instrument cluster
  • New steering wheel (borrowed from the XUV700)
  • Revised dashboard controls

Engine: Petrol and diesel options continue, but reports suggest that the 4×4 may be limited to the diesel this time.

Price: Likely to stay close to the current price (₹15-24 lakh).
