The Hyundai Creta is one of the best-selling cars in India today, but Hyundai is preparing for another masterstroke with the new-generation Hyundai Venue. The updated model is expected to arrive soon, with a number of major changes. The current Venue, while popular, lacks some of the advanced features found in its rivals. Hyundai tries to change that with the new version, making it more spacious, feature-packed and competitive.
The new Venue will be built on a new platform, which means more cabin space, a wider second row and a larger boot. It will also feature a redesigned exterior with a design that gives a stronger road presence. Expected features include LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, connected tail lamps, 16-17-inch alloy wheels, up to 200 mm ground clearance, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and a panoramic sunroof.
Inside the interior, Hyundai is likely to add a lot of new technology. It could offer leather upholstery in higher trims with a larger touchscreen, 360-degree camera, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bose speakers and a digital instrument cluster. Features like a dash camera, rear AC vents and multiple parking sensors will also continue in the Venue. On the safety front, Level 2 ADAS is expected, which covers front, side and rear assistance.
The new Venue will offer three engine options. First, a 1.2L petrol with a 5-speed manual for daily urban use. Second, a 1.0L turbo petrol with 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT automatic options. And third, a 1.5L diesel with a 6-speed manual, and an automatic variant is also likely to arrive. If Hyundai introduces a diesel automatic, it could attract a wider set of buyers.
Due to the additional features and advanced technology, the price is expected to start at ₹8 lakh and go up to ₹17 lakh for the top-end variant. Hyundai is also aiming to get a 5-star safety rating with this model, which adds to its appeal.
Overall, the new Hyundai Venue promises better space, features, performance and safety compared to its predecessor. Combined with Hyundai’s strong service network, it could become a top pick in the compact SUV segment, competing against rivals like the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO and Kia Sonet. If you are planning to buy a car in this segment, waiting for the new Venue could be a smart decision, as it could be a real game-changer for Hyundai in India.
