The 2025 BMW M2 is the facelifted second-generation model of BMW’s entry-level M car, priced at ₹1 crore (ex-showroom) for the automatic variant in India. A manual transmission option is also available for an additional ₹1 lakh. The M2 is built on BMW’s CLAR LK platform, which also shares the 3 Series, 4 Series and the Toyota GR Supra. The M2 is codenamed G87 and is assembled in Mexico. Many enthusiasts also call it the best BMW M car in over a decade. While the more powerful M2 CS with 523 hp exists, it has not yet been launched in India.
In terms of design, the M2 gets a bold look with trapezoidal M air intakes, frameless kidney grille, flared wheel arches and muscular styling. Features include adaptive LED headlights with high-beam assist, electrochromic auto-dimming mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, 19-inch front and 20-inch rear M alloy wheels and the option of optional red brake calipers. The M2 is 4.6 meters long, 1.9 meters wide and 1.4 meters high, with a ground clearance of 123 mm. Customers can choose from colors such as São Paulo yellow, blue, white, gray, red and black, and can also opt for an optional carbon fiber roof.
The rear styling of the M2 gets 3D LED taillights, functional chrome-finished dual exhausts, an M rear spoiler and a sculpted diffuser. Equipped with an Active M Sport differential, Adaptive M suspension and multiple driving modes (Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus) are available that ensure agility and stability. For performance enthusiasts, the car offers M Drift Analyzer, lap timer, launch control and 10-stage traction control. Optional add-ons include the M Sport Pro package, active cruise control and driving assistant.
Inside, the cabin feels premium with black Vernasca leather upholstery with blue or red accents, M Sport seats with memory, lumbar support, heating and illuminated M2 logos. There are also optional extras like a 14-speaker, 464W Harmon Kardon surround system, frameless windows, ambient lighting and an electric glass sunroof. The driver gets a sporty cockpit with a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 14.9-inch infotainment system with BMW OS 8.5, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, gesture control, navigation and a head-up display. The car also supports the My BMW app for remote access, lock/unlock and service scheduling.

Under the hood, the M2 has the legendary 3.0L inline-six twin-turbocharged S58 engine that produces 473 hp and 600 Nm of torque. Paired with an 8-speed ZF automatic (or optional 6-speed manual), it sprints from 0-100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds with the automatic and 4.0 seconds with the manual. Top speed is 250 km/h, which can be increased to 285 km/h with the M Driver’s Package. Despite its performance, it delivers around 10 km/l of fuel efficiency from its 52L tank. This engine has won awards as one of the best engines in the world, also powering the M3, M4 and X3M.
Practical touches include 390 litres of boot space, split-folding rear seats and multiple storage options. Safety gets six airbags, ABS, stability control, cornering brake control, ISOFIX mounts, TPMS and emergency SOS functions are well covered. BMW is also offering a 3-year/40,000 km service package and BMW Excellence Club membership for luxury lifestyle benefits starting at ₹16,000.
Overall, the 2025 BMW M2 combines track-ready performance with everyday utility. It is compact yet powerful, practical yet exciting, making it one of the most desirable performance coupes under ₹1 crore in India.
