India’s electric two-wheeler market has received a serious voltage boost with the arrival of the Raptee HV T30. Developed by Chennai-based startup Raptee and made in India, the first high-voltage electric motorcycle is a major step up from the low-voltage systems used in most EV scooters and bikes currently sold here.

Raptee HV T30 High-voltage technology
What sets the T30 apart is its high-voltage architecture, which offers key benefits like less heat generation, better efficiency, and less thermal stress on components. According to Dinesh Arjun, CEO of Raptee, the T30 runs at nearly five times the voltage of a regular EV, which means the heat generated is 25 times less for the same power output. This results in lighter, smaller components without compromising on performance.
Another big feature is its charging capability , the T30 will be the first Indian motorcycle to be compatible with CCS2 car charging stations. That means you can plug it into a charger made for EVs like the Tata Nexon EV or even Tesla. Using a car fast charger, the T30 can be charged from 20-80% in just *36 minutes*, while a home charger takes around an hour for the same.
Raptee HV T30 Design and Build
In terms of design, the Raptee T30 combines sharp, modern styling at the front with curved lines at the rear, giving it a balanced mix between sporty streetfighter and urban roadster. It gets LED headlights with distinctive DRLs, 17-inch wheels, split seat setup and grab rails for practicality.
Being Raptee’s first motorcycle, the build quality is decent** though not flawless, with some minor panel gaps being seen, especially near the charging port and grab rails. The T30 will be available in two variants – T30 and T30 Sport , both of which are mechanically identical but have slight differences in design. The Sport variant has a cleaner tail section, while the standard model includes an additional rear fender. Both come in black and white, while the T30 adds grey, and the T30 Sport offers a red colour option.
Ergonomics and Comfort
At 5’7″ tall, the rider can comfortably ride the T30 flat-footed, with a slightly forward-leaning riding position. Taller riders will find it more upright. The seat is comfortable even for long rides, though the upper back can feel a bit strained after a long ride. The rear-set footpegs add a sporty touch to the riding stance.
Performance and Riding Modes
Powering the T30 is a 5.4 kWh battery pack that is coupled with a motor that produces 29.5 hp and 70 Nm of torque. And it offers three riding modes: Comfort, Power, and Sprint .
- Comfort Mode: Top speed of around 65 km/h, very light acceleration, best suited for city stop-go traffic .
- Power Mode: Useful for everyday riding, top speed around 100 km/h.
- Sprint mode: The most exciting, with a claimed top speed of 135 km/h** (133 km/h achieved in testing).
Range varies by mode, around 150 km in Comfort, 100 km in Power, and 80 km in Sprint. Once the battery drops below 25%, the bike is automatically limited to Comfort mode until it is recharged.
Raptee HV T30 Ride and handling
Weighing around 177 kg, the T30 is not very heavy, but the weight feels noticeable when cornering. It feels very stable in straight lines, although cornering requires effort and doesn’t feel as natural as a petrol-powered street bike. MRF tyres are good for its performance level provides grip.
The suspension setup is handled by upside-down forks up front and monoshock at the rear. The setup feels a bit stiff, absorbing small bumps well but struggles over larger potholes. Braking Brakes via dual discs with ABS, though it takes a while to get used to the brake feel, initial response is soft, followed by a sudden bite under hard braking.
Features and Technology
The T30 gets a 7-inch TFT touchscreen display that shows detailed riding data. The interface is simple, though the text could be larger for easier readability. It also has turn-by-turn navigation using open-source maps with Raptee’s custom UI layer. Other highlights include keyless ignition (standard) and cruise control, though still under development.
Verdict
After nearly seven years of development, The Raptee T30 truly brings new technology to India’s electric motorcycle scene. The bike impresses with its robust performance, advanced charging technology, and feature-rich display, but fit and finish and handling dynamics need improvement.
Priced at ₹2.39 lakh (ex-showroom), it’s a lot cheaper than international high-voltage bikes, but it’s still a tough sell in India’s price-sensitive market, especially due to its range limitations. Currently, bookings are open in Chennai and Bengaluru.
