The new 2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric has finally been fully revealed, and Porsche has revealed everything from the base model to the super-powerful turbo variant. This marks a major change for the next-generation Cayenne brand, as the electric model will now become its main platform, while the current combustion-engine Cayenne will continue to be sold in parallel in most markets. Here’s a clear breakdown of the price, design, technology, performance, interior and charging features of Porsche’s first electric Cayenne.
Cayenne Electric Design and Dimensions
The Cayenne Electric has a familiar silhouette but has been developed with sleeker, more aerodynamic styling. The electric version gets a longer wheelbase than the ICE model, around 13 cm longer which improves interior space. Overall length is 4.99 meters, which is around 6 cm more than the combustion version. The base and Turbo models appear closer in design than their ICE counterparts, with the Turbo getting slightly sportier bumpers and larger air intakes. Even though it is an EV, these intakes help cool the powerful drivetrain, especially in the Turbo variant.
Both models offer 21-22 inch alloy wheel options. The Turbo shown in Mystic Green has Spires-design wheels, while the base model shown comes in Vanadium Grey. The drag coefficient is impressive at 0.25 (0.245 unrounded), making it the most aerodynamic SUV in its class, and a more attractive coupe body style will be coming soon.

Performance of Cayenne Base VS Cayenne Turbo Variants
The new Cayenne Electric Turbo is the most powerful product Porsche has ever made.
Base Cayenne Electric: 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds.
Cayenne Electric Turbo: Launch Control outputs more than 1,150 hp, with a base (non-boost) output of more than 850 hp. With a steering-wheel boost button (+176 hp for 10 seconds), the Turbo accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and 0-200 km/h in 7.4 seconds.
These figures put the Turbo squarely in supercar territory. Both models come with standard air suspension, while the Turbo can be equipped with Porsche Active Ride, a hydraulic system that provides advanced wheel control. Rear-axle steering is also optional.
Cayenne Electric Charging and Range
Porsche has engineered the Cayenne Electric for extremely fast charging.
- DC fast charging: Supports up to 400 kW .
- Charging time (tested): 8-80% in 14 minutes 40 seconds .
- AC charging: 11 kW standard (22 kW will be offered later) on both sides of the vehicle .
The range is equally strong
- Base model WLTP: Offers a range of up to 640 km.
- Turbo WLTP: Offers a range of around 620 km.
Real-world highway range at 130-140 km/h is expected to be around 500 km (≈300 miles). Porsche is also offering optional 11 kW inductive charging at home, although it is also quite expensive.
Cayenne Electric Interior and Features

The new interior design represents a big step forward, especially in software performance & ergonomics. Both models get frameless doors, a completely redesigned curved infotainment screen and a more modern digital cockpit.
Highlights include
- A new curved central display (with fast and responsive software).
- Classic physical climate controls with metal click-feedback switches.
- Steering wheel with drive modes and a turbo boost button.
- Laminated glass and optional soft-close doors
- A panoramic sunroof that opens completely, a rarity for an EV.
- Optional passenger screen.
- A large modular center console with improved phone charging and cooling.
A welcome addition is Porsche’s first completely animal-free interior, featuring Pepita fabric and Racetex microfiber, which many buyers will appreciate.
A few downsides remain: some of the hard plastic inside the door panels feels inappropriate for the price, and certain surfaces (like the armrest) could be softer.

Rear seats and practicality
Due to the Cayenne Electric’s long wheelbase, rear passengers get more legroom than in the combustion model. Electric rear seats come standard and allow a wide range of recline adjustments. Trunk space is 780 liters, slightly more than the ICE model, although vertical space is slightly less. A further 90 liters are added in the front, which is ideal for cables or small bags.
The rear climate controls also include physical buttons, seat heating and seat ventilation, which is very rare for the rear seats.
Porsche Cayenne Electric Price and market position
The new Cayenne Electric will be sold with the ICE version in most global markets.
Base Electric Cayenne: ₹1,75,68,000 crore price in India
Cayenne Electric Turbo: ₹2,25,92,000 crore price in India
With options on the Cayenne Electric, buyers can easily add another crores price in India. The price difference between the electric and combustion versions is minimal, but the long-term tax benefits and ownership costs may favor the EV.
At first glance, the new Cayenne Electric may take some getting used to, especially the front design and curved display. But the longer you experience it, the more it impresses. The performance is unmatched, the charging speed is class-leading, and the interior feels modern, functional, and well-thought-out. With a completely animal-free interior option and the addition of high-end technology, the electric Cayenne looks like the true future of the model lineup.
Porsche will continue to sell both electric and combustion versions for now, but the new Cayenne Electric clearly signals where the brand is headed.
