The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara has been spotted testing on the road in India without any camouflage, suggesting that the Suzuki e-Vitara is in a production-ready state. The fully electric SUV is set to launch around September 2025, with many dealerships accepting unofficial bookings ahead of its official debut.

Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara Battery Options and Performance


The e-Vitara will offer two battery pack options: 49 kWh (Delta variant) and 61 kWh (Zeta and Alpha variants).

Based on company and industry reports, the e-Vitara is expected to have an ARAI-certified range of up to 500 km, while some realistic estimates say that it could offer a range of over 550 km, depending on driving conditions. With a power output ranging from 142 PS to 174 PS, the e-Vitara delivers 192 Nm of torque in the front-wheel drive (FWD) version. The e-Vitara will also get an All Grip-E option, which will be known as all-wheel drive (AWD), and this variant will deliver 300 Nm of torque.

Maruti will also include ADAS Level 2 features in the e-Vitara. Safety features like lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, auto emergency braking (AEB), high beam assist, six airbags, electronic stability program (ESP), tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and ISOFIX child seat mounts will be provided for safety.

The SUV also complies with international safety standards with AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System) for pedestrian safety.

Exterior and color options of the e-Vitara by Maruti

In the recently seen photos, the car looks like an SUV with a bold and modern design. The e-Vitara is expected to be launched in 10 different color schemes, including dual-tone options. Various color combinations like red with black roof, white with black roof, Land Breeze Green with black roof will be seen.

Maruti e-Vitara Global and Domestic Plans


Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that the e-Vitara will be exported to over 100 global markets. And the SUV will be manufactured at Suzuki’s Gujarat plant, which is being expanded to manufacture EV cars.

The e-Vitara is based on the Heartect-e architecture, which Suzuki has optimised for electric vehicle mobility and safety.

Production challenges of the e-Vitara


Maruti Suzuki has reduced the initial production targets of the e-Vitara. Reports say that the company has reduced production of 26,000+ units in the first half of FY26 to just 8,000 units.

Maruti has assured that this will not have any impact on the launch timeline and has decided to increase production to around 59,000 units in the second half of FY26.

Estimated price and competition of e-Vitara


Maruti has not yet announced any official price, but industry insiders estimate that the e-Vitara could be priced between ₹17 lakh and ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom). Internationally, the e-Vitara is already available for sale in markets like the UK, where its base variant starts at £29,999 (approximately ₹35 lakh).
