The BMW M5 G90 2025 is the latest seventh-generation high-performance sedan from BMW’s M division, priced at around ₹2.05 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). Based on the G60 5 Series platform, the M5 is the first car to feature a plug-in hybrid system, in which a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine (BMW S68) is mated to an 18.6 kWh lithium-ion battery and an electric motor. And together, they produce 717 hp and 1000 Nm of torque, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 305 km/h (limited to 250 km/h as standard, higher with the M Driver’s Package). In pure electric mode, it can run at a speed of 140 km/h and has an electric driving range of up to 69 km.
Despite weighing more due to the hybrid system, the M5 still offers sharp driving dynamics thanks to M xDrive all-wheel drive, adaptive M suspension, and Integral Active Steering. It features a ZF 8-speed M Steptronic Sport automatic transmission, launch control, multiple driving modes, and advanced M-specific performance tools like the M Drift Analyzer and M Lap Timer.
The new M5 comes with 20-inch front and 21-inch rear alloy wheels, a bold exterior with quad exhaust, carbon-fiber roof, LED headlights and sporty M styling details. Customers can choose from 10 exterior colors (including Marina Bay Blue, Frozen Deep Gray, Red, White and more) and four Merino leather upholstery options (Silver, Black, Brown, Red).
Inside, it is packed with features like a 14.9-inch curved infotainment display tilted towards the driver with BMW Operating System 8.5, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, four-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, an optional panoramic sunroof and a 655W 18-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system. Safety is comprehensive with seven airbags, ABS, DSC, parking assist, crash sensors, ISOFIX mounts and more.
