Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch its new product in the Indian SUV market. The country’s major carmaker is preparing to launch two all-new SUVs, one fully electric and one hybrid, by the end of 2025.
EVX Maruti’s first all-electric SUV.
The new electric SUV has been codenamed eVX. Its launch is expected to happen around September 2025. The model represents Maruti Suzuki’s first major step into the EV segment, and the car will be available for sale on the premium Nexa dealership chain.
Two battery packs will be offered – 48.8 kWh and 61.1 kWh options. As mentioned earlier, it will get an ARAI-certified range of up to 550 km, Maruti will offer a fast charging option that will charge 0-80% in less than an hour, the new eVX will be offered in different variants like Delta, Zeta and Alpha.
The estimated price will be between ₹16–23 lakh (ex-showroom).
Key highlights will include a large 10.25-inch touchscreen, ADAS feature, ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, 360° camera, and many other features.
Suzuki will manufacture its new eVX electric at its plant in Gujarat, and it is likely that the eVX will also be exported to global markets from this plant. It is also likely to see a model called the Toyota Pare-based Urban Cruiser EV, which shares the same platform and technology.
Hybrid tech on family utility

Suzuki’s second model, which is expected to be a 7-seater version of the Grand Vitara, could be a good option for large families looking for an efficient alternative to a conventional petrol or diesel SUV. The hybrid SUV, expected to be launched by the end of 2025, will be available with both mild-hybrid and strong-hybrid engine options.
Key features could include:
A stretched wheelbase with an extended third row of seats.
There will be distinctive exterior updates to differentiate it from the 5-seater Grand Vitara.
Advanced infotainment, connected car tech and enhanced cabin comfort options will be offered.
Likely price range: Between ₹14–18 lakh (ex-showroom).
This model will compete with car models like Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari, but will also offer better fuel efficiency and a more affordable price due to its hybrid tech.
