Maruti Suzuki has launched the all-new crossover SUV Victoris in the 2025 Arena lineup. This is the first-generation model of the Victoris and is positioned as a premium offering from Maruti Suzuki. The price range starts at ₹14.9 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to around ₹20 lakh for the fully-loaded ZXi+(O) variant. Maruti is backing the Victoris with a 3-year/1,00,000 km warranty, which can be extended to 6 years/1,60,000 km. Interestingly, the name Victoris comes from the Latin word “victory” and it is built on Suzuki’s proven Global C platform, which also underpins the Grand Vitara and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Highrider. Manufacturing takes place in Haryana, and Maruti also plans to export it to 100 countries.
In terms of design, the Victoris looks bold yet modern. You get LED projector headlamps with DRLs, satin chrome grille garnish, LED fog lamps, silver skid plates, roof rails, shark fin antenna and 17-inch arrow-cut alloy wheels. Dual-tone options with a black roof are also available, with colours like blue, red, silver, white, black, grey and green. The SUV is around 4.4 metres long, 1.8 metres wide and 1.6 metres tall, making it the same size as the Grand Vitara.
The interior of the Victoris feels premium and well-appointed. Features include a 10.1-inch Smart Play Pro+ touchscreen with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, Alexa connectivity, OTA updates and built-in apps like JioSaavn and Gaana. The higher variants also get a 10.25-inch digital driver display, head-up display, 64-colour ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, 8-way power-adjustable driver seat, wireless charging and a premium 8-speaker Infinity Harmon sound system with Dolby Atmos. The rear seats are comfortable with rear AC vents, USB ports and a foldable armrest, while the boot space comes in at around 370 litres with a hands-free powered tailgate.
The Victoris is truly at the forefront in terms of safety. It has received a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating and also gets six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, traction control, hill-hold assist, 360° camera, TPMS, ISOFIX mounts and advanced level-2 ADAS features like lane-keep assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and autonomous emergency braking.
When it comes to engines, Maruti offers three options.
- 1.5L K15C Smart Hybrid (Petrol) – 101 hp, 139 Nm, 5MT/6AT, mileage around 19-21 kmpl.
- 1.5L Strong Hybrid (Toyota M15D engine) – 91 hp + electric motor, eCVT gearbox, mileage up to 28 kmpl.
- 1.5L CNG (Dual-Fuel) – 99 hp (Petrol), 86 hp (CNG), with 5MT only, mileage around 27 km/kg.
For enthusiasts, there is also an AllGrip all-wheel drive version with terrain modes like Snow, Lock, Sport and Auto.
Overall, the Maruti Suzuki Victoris looks like a complete package. Its modern design is appealing to most people, has strong safety features, practical space, feature-loaded interiors and combines multiple powertrain options including petrol, robust hybrid and CNG. With its competitive pricing and Maruti’s vast service network, the Victoris is definitely set to become a strong player in the Indian SUV market.
