Exterior Design
Unlike some rivals that have gone too far, BMW has chosen evolution over revolution. The iX3 looks familiar and proportionate, mirroring the ICE X3 while hiding game-changing EV tech.
The new iX3 adopts a clean and monolithic design with improved aerodynamics (Cd 0.24).
- Front design: BMW is toning down the radical styling, with the vertical small-sized kidney grille available with illuminated surrounds. The proportional, classic BMW face is a parit design.
- Rear Design: Just like the front design is minimal, the rear design is also kept equally minimal. It gets a large, long LED light, and the new BMW logo is included on both the front and rear.
- Aerodynamics: Cd of 0.24, significantly improved over the ICE version.
- Wheels: Standard 20-inch, optional 22-inch aerodynamic alloy (70% recycled aluminum).
- Variants: Available in base, M Sport and M Sport Pro styling packages.
Interior & Features

The cabin of the new BMW ix3 sees a big leap forward, adopting a monolithic and minimal design language, a design that will also be offered in upcoming BMW cars.
- Panoramic Vision Display: Replacing the traditional instrument cluster, it projects information onto the windshield. Clear, eye-level information with minimal distraction.
- Central screen: An 18-inch infotainment unit, with climate controls integrated but kept close for usability. Fewer physical buttons, but fixed A/C and volume controls retained.
- Steering wheel: All-new 2-spoke, M Sport, round, flat-top, flat-bottom design steering wheel, no instrument panel blockage.
- Materials: Vegan leather, recycled fabrics, sustainable trims.
- Personalization: User profiles sync with your smartphone, which automatically adjusts seats, displays, themes.
- Practicality: Despite the EV packaging, rear seat comfort remains solid, India may get a long-wheelbase iX3 variant.
- Sunroof: Panoramic glass roof gets fixed, optional manual shade option with advanced tinting tech will also be available.

Driving Dynamics
BMW emphasizes that this EV still feels like a BMW. And it’s just as fun to drive as a BMW ice car.
- Rear-biased AWD for sporty balance.
- Linear, rigid chassis structure to avoid the “EV heaviness” feel.
- No air suspension or rear-axle steering is offered, BMW kept it light and more efficient.
- The base suspension is tuned for sportiness, with an adaptive setup expected later.
The new BMW iX3 is not just another electric SUV, it marks the beginning of BMW’s Neue Klasse era. With its long range, ultra-fast charging, efficient design and revolutionary interior technology, it could be the most important BMW of this decade. If priced competitively against rivals like plug-in hybrids and the Mercedes EQC/GLC Electric, it could reshape the premium EV SUV segment globally and in India by 2027.
