Tata Sierra is one of the most iconic names in Indian automotive history. First launched in 1991, the Sierra makes a strong comeback in 2025 as a second-generation lifestyle crossover SUV. The model you see here is the top-end Accomplished+ variant, priced at ₹21.29 lakh (ex-showroom), while the overall range starts at ₹14.90 lakh. Tata Sierra is offered in petrol and diesel, with an electric version under testing and expected soon. The SUV comes with a 3-year/1 lakh km warranty and is assembled at Tata’s Sanand plant in Gujarat.
Designed by Martin Uhlarik, the mind behind the Curve, Nexon, Harrier, Safari, Skoda Fabia and Nissan Qashqai, the new Sierra has already won the 2025 Red Dot Design Award. Interestingly, the name Sierra comes from the Spanish word meaning mountain range, which perfectly matches its rugged yet premium character.
Platform, Dimensions and Road Presence
The Tata Sierra is built on Tata’s new ARGUS (All-Terrain Radio Omni Energy and Geometry Scalable) platform, which also supports future AWD setups. It measures 4.3 metres in length, 1.8 metres in width, 1.7 metres in height and has a 2.7-metre wheelbase. Ground clearance is 205 mm, making it suitable for Indian roads and light off-roading.
The SUV’s higher variants get 19-inch alloy wheels, while the lower variants get options for 18-inch, 17-inch alloy and steel wheels. Disc brakes are provided on all four wheels with MRF Wanderer Eco Tread tubeless tyres.
