India’s scooter segment witnessed a strong performance in May 2025, led by the following names: Here is the breakdown of the top 10 Best Selling Scooters models, showing year-on-year (YoY) growth and the previous year’s comparability.
Honda Activa continued its lead as the country’s best-selling scooter, with sales of the Honda Activa declining by 11.9%, falling to 190,713 units from 216,352 in May.
Honda Activa witnessed a remarkable growth, with sales of the Honda Activa growing by +28.7%, from 75,838 to 97,606 units.
Suzuki Access also witnessed a growth of +16.9% and sales increased continuously from 75,778 units, which is a good progress for Suzuki.
In mopeds, TVS XL sales fell by ~7.8%, while Honda Dio sales fell by around 9.7%.
Electric scooters are doing well in the market:
TVS iQube registered a staggering +60.4% growth in sales, selling over 27,600 units.
Bajaj Chetak (EV) also registered a phenomenal +95.8% growth in sales, reaching 25,540 units, almost doubling its year-on-year volume.
EV scooters saw a reverse trend, with Ola S1 seeing a major decline in retail sales, down 50.5% to 18,501 units.
