VinFast VF7 and VF6
VinFast is a Vietnamese car manufacturer that will now launch its cars in India, with its VF7 and VF6 electric SUVs. The launch is likely to be between October and December 2025.
The VF7 will offer two trim levels, Eco with 204 hp/310 Nm and Plus with 354 hp/500 Nm, both options will have a 75.3 kWh battery and a range of up to 450 km, according to the company.
Bookings are expected to open in June 2025, and the company expects to sell ~3,000 units of the car in the first year.
VinFast has also partnered with Global Assure for after-sales support, including charging and repair services in India.
Toyota Urban Cruiser EV (aka Suzuki e-Vitara)
The Toyota Urban Cruiser EV will be badge-engineered as the Suzuki e-Vitara, both of which will start production in Gujarat in early 2025, and are expected to be launched in India by March-May 2025.
The cars will be available in FWD and AWD options with 49 kWh and 61 kWh LFP battery packs, offering a range of ~400km and power of up to 135 kW.
Tata Harrier EV
Tata Motors confirmed the launch of the Harrier EV on May 3 2025, in Elephant Rock, Kerala, showcasing its AWD boost and off-road capabilities.
The car features dual-motor AWD and a range of 500+ km, making it the most range-topping car in the segment.
Mahindra BE6 and XUV.e8
Mahindra’s BE6 electric SUV starts at ₹18.9 lakh, with a 59-79 kWh battery pack and a range of ~500km, with higher variants likely to hit the market in 2025.
