Ultraviolet has finally launched its all-new Ultraviolet X47 crossover electric motorcycle, and it brings a new design with some impressive features. The key to the X47 is a stylish and premium design. A digital cluster is provided, and various controls including an ignition button and a charging port are also provided. The bike comes with an onboard 1.6 kW slow charger and also supports fast charging.
Design from the front, the X47 features a glowing Ultraviolet logo, attractive LED headlamps with F77-inspired DRLs, LED indicators and a tall windshield. It also gets knuckle guards, stylish ORVMs, adjustable levers and dual-channel ABS. The front wheel is fitted with a 110-section tyre, while the rear gets a 150-section wide tyre, both designed for mixed terrain use. Large disc brakes are offered at both ends with Vibray calipers for strong braking performance.
The battery pack is a 10.3 kWh unit, mounted in the center of the bike, which gives the bike a balanced look and feel. Ultraviolet claims an IDC range of 323 km, with a real-world range of around 250 km expected. Interestingly, the bike also supports regenerative braking up to level 9, which can recover 25-30% of the battery during a ride. The top speed is 145 km/h, and the company is also offering a battery warranty of up to 8 lakh km, which is impressive.
The Ultraviolet X47 is also packed with modern features. In which the digital cluster serves to provide detailed riding information, which displays traction control with four modes and customization options. The top-end model is equipped with front and rear cameras, radar-based rear monitoring with 150° coverage and blind spot warning lights integrated in the mirrors, which are commonly found in cars. There are also options for add-on accessories like front camera and fog lamps.
Comfort has been well thought out with a long, wide seat suitable for two riders, rear mono-shock suspension and a sturdy swingarm. The overall design feels premium, blending sporty and adventurous styling with practicality.
Talking about the price, the Ultraviolet X47 has been launched for initial bookings at an initial ex-showroom price of ₹2.49 lakh, which has been opened after the launch. Deliveries are scheduled to start in October. Later, the price will be revised to ₹2.79 lakh, making it a great option for under the ₹3 lakh on-road price.
The Ultraviolet X47 looks like a solid crossover EV bike with the right mix of performance, features, and range. A real-world test ride will reveal more about its capabilities, but on paper, it looks like one of the most exciting electric bikes in its segment.
