The BMW 3 Series M340i is priced between Rs. 72.85 – 73.95 Lakh* (ex-showroom). The M40i is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder petrol engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission (Steptronic Sport), which produces 374 bhp and 500 Nm of torque with a 4WD drivetrain (xDrive). It is tuned with sportiness and driving dynamics in mind and includes advanced BMW M Sport features.
The M340i is the fastest locally-built BMW car in India at the Chennai plant, sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds, powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo petrol engine that produces 374 hp and 500 Nm of torque.
It has an 8-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission with paddle shifters, which provides smooth and responsive gear shifts.
The newly added Adaptive M suspension, with adjustable dampers, allows the driver to switch between comfortable and sporty ride settings, significantly improving ride comfort without compromising sharp handling.
The new sporty blacked-out 19-inch alloy wheels with red M Sport brake calipers give an aggressive sporty look.
Interior updates include a new flat-bottom steering wheel with a red 12 o’clock marker, and redesigned new central air vents.
The cockpit features a 14.9-inch curved touchscreen with BMW Operating System 8.5, although the interface was found to be somewhat cluttered.
There is a Reversing Assistant feature that records and replicates steering inputs from the last 50 meters for easier parking and maneuvering.
The car features BMW’s xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system with an M Sport rear differential that enhances traction and cornering dynamics.
Exclusive ’50 Jahres’ Edition limited-run models were launched with special badges, gloss black M badging, carbon-fiber trims, and additional premium features.
Key features include dual-zone automatic climate control, Vernaska leather upholstery, a Harman Kardon surround sound system with 16 speakers, voice commands, wireless charging, and a comprehensive driver assistance suite for safety and driving ease.
